Final call for entries to Emerging Leaders program

Future leaders in food supply chain charities can still apply for funding and mentoring

The next generation of leaders working in charities and not-for-profit organisations in the global food supply chain are being reminded to apply for a round of funding and a series of one-to-one mentoring sessions that will help them progress their career. Applications for the Emerging Leaders program – which is sponsored by Eden Search & Select – will close on 31st January 2022.

The Emerging Leaders program is designed to help the next generation of leadership talent in agritech, fresh produce and food manufacturing charities realise their full potential. In its inaugural year, the program is offering one future leader the chance to access £3000 of funding to help pay for a training course and / or development project of their choice; plus four mentoring sessions with industry leaders. A series of mentoring sessions are also on offer for two additional applicants.

The Emerging Leaders program is being led by industry veteran Richard Macdonald. Non-Executive Chairman of Eden Search & Select, Richard is also Deputy Chairman of the Environment Agency.

The winner of the Emerging Leaders programme will be able to use the funding to pay for an academic qualification, a vocational course, or a research project that will make a genuine difference to the industry they work in.

Who is eligible to apply?

Individuals working within a not-for-profit organisation / charity in agritech, fresh, protein and plant-based, food manufacturing sectors in the UK or internationallyIndividuals who can demonstrate significant experience in senior management position(s). Individuals who have experienced rapid career progression and have a clear view of the external support they require to continue the trajectory into leadership/board positions.

How to apply?

Applicants should send their CV and a 500-word summary, answering the following key questions:

  • What are the challenges you would like to solve within the industry?
  • What training / development would you need to achieve this?
  • Why will this make a difference to you and the industry in the longer term?

All applicants need to confirm they are supported by a company ‘sponsor’ e.g., a line manager and /or HRDs when they make their application (including in respect of time out of their businesses if they are successful in the process).
