Monkey Shoulder release music track to raise money for Music Venue Trust to give back to hardest hit industry

Celebrating the return of music-filled summers, Monkey Shoulder have partnered with electronic artist A.Skillz and DJ Kraty Kuts to release ‘Lit Up’

Monkey Shoulder, the malt made for mixing, has today released brand new track Lit Up to celebrate the return of a music-filled summer season and raise money for to Music Venue Trust, a charity supporting the hard-hit music industry post-pandemic.

Created in partnership with key pioneer in the UK breakbeat and bass movement, Krafty Kuts, master of beat blending A.Skillz and featuring vocals from Gizelle Smith, Lit Up is theultimate ‘welcome back’ soundtrack with a catchy hook and funky house sound.

In true Monkey fashion, the launch of the track is accompanied by a music video showing a bottle of Monkey Shoulder Original being launched into the stratosphere whilst attached to a weather balloon because – why not! There’s also a new cocktail in the mix, the Space Jam Sour. A delicious summery drink that mixes Monkey Shoulder with fresh lemon juice, raspberry jam, and soda water to create a refreshing serve.

With profits going to Music Venue Trust, this release furthers the continued efforts to support the music industry with the track being latest in the Monkey Mixes series; an initiative created by Monkey Shoulder to support DJs around the world during what has been and continues to be a challenging time for the industry. During lockdown particularly, Monkey Mixes supported DJs financially by paying them to create a range of unique and bespoke DJ mixes whilst clubs, bars and music venues were closed. Now that venues can re-open, many are still struggling with the residual financial strain from the pandemic. Music Venues Trust aims to secure and improve Grassroots Music Venues across the UK.

A-Skillz, and Krafty Kuts comment: “UK summers have always been the pinnacle of electronic music so we’re so excited that finally, after two years, we can resume some sort of normal. Lockdown was a hard time for musicians, so we wanted to take music, and Monkey Shoulder, to new heights – literally. We were excited to collaborate with incredible vocalist Gizelle, on our music track ‘Lit Up’ which soundtracks Monkey Shoulder’s trip into the stratosphere as well as kicking off the summer season.”

Joe Petch, Global Brand Ambassador for Monkey Shoulder comments: “It’s been great working with the creative minds that are A-Skillz and Krafty Kuts, they have created the perfect soundtrack to launch Monkey Shoulder into the stratosphere and celebrate the return of the summer music scene. To complete the experience, we’ve created a silky, sweet and sour cocktail for revellers to enjoy as they listen to the track and watch the video. The Space Jam Sour features Monkey Shoulder Original Blended Whisky, with an added twist of raspberry and star anise garnish.”

The track and video will be available to listen to, watch and download from all major digital platforms, from 17th May. For more info on MVT, see their website here Music Venue Trust.
