The PPMA Show will return to the NEC, Birmingham this year running from 28 to 30 September.
Showcasing the very latest in processing and packaging machinery, the free-to-attend event will welcome over 350 exhibitors including: Ulma, Markem-Imaje, Adpak, Barry-Wehmiller, and Penn Packaging.
Speaking on the decision to run the 2021 show, following a year’s break due to Covid-19, Show Director, Richard Little comments: “There were a lot of things to take into consideration when deciding to run this year’s event; not least of all the safety and well-being of all concerned.
“Based on the advice we’ve received; the likely scenario is that all UK adults will have had or will be eligible to receive their second Covid-19 vaccination by September 2021. Therefore, restrictions that would impact our show running will have been lifted. We also gauged the appetite of our exhibitors and prospective visitors to attend a live show, from which our surveys generated a very favourable response.
“The overwhelming consensus among those within the industry is that they want to see the return of live events. And so, we are working closely with the NEC to ensure that the necessary controls are in place, without compromising the overall event experience.”
The PPMA are also changing the way they deliver the speaker and seminar content this year. They will use shorter, punchier TED style talk content enabling them to bring a greater variety of topics to the show, which will be presented on screens around the show floor.
