The UK’s number one supplier of Caribbean food and drink* is throwing its full support behind the Jamaican team for the Commonwealth Games that start this week.

Grace Foods UK, a division of the international GraceKennedy group headquartered in Kingston, Jamaica which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, is one of the sponsors of Jamaica House, a five-day consumer-focused pop-up event in the Glee Club in Birmingham’s city centre, which is organised by the Jamaica Tourist Board and Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport.

Grace Foods UK will be supplying its authentic range of delicious food and drink products and ingredients for the five-day event that will not only celebrate the Jamaican athletes’ participation in the event, but will also be marking the 60th anniversary of Jamaican independence, which falls on 6 August.

Representatives from Grace will also be at Jamaica House, cheering on the Jamaican team. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, two-time Olympic champion and a five-time world champion, is a brand ambassador for Grace Kennedy.

Jamaica House will highlight the best of Jamaican culture, music and cuisine for fans of Jamaica and sporting enthusiasts.

Over the five days at Jamaica House, guests will be able to watch the Commonwealth Games sporting action live on giant screens as Jamaica goes for gold on the track, while savouring cocktails and beer, as well as tucking into some authentically cooked jerk chicken, made with Grace’s legendary jerk barbecue sauces and seasonings, and other Caribbean food and drink favourites over the five days. Jamaican artists will also be performing the best of reggae, dancehall, gospel and comedy.

There will be live races from the Games and nightly entertainment from noon to midnight each day.
